Level 21, Swing Low, on a phone: a bowling ball tied by a rope to a pin, the dashed arc of its swing ending at a bell, with the caption 21, Swing Low, Rope

How it plays

Every level is a half-built contraption. Finish it.

Balls roll, dominoes tumble, balloons float and gears turn, all by real physics. Your job is to fill the gaps.

  1. 1

    Grab parts from the toolbox

Ramps, planks, fans, ropes, magnets, lasers and more. Each level gives you just a few.

  2. 2

    Drop them on the pegboard

Turn, flip and nudge them until the chain looks right.

  3. 3

    Press Run

Watch it go. Missed? Tweak one part and run it again.

Which devices can I play on?

Gizmo Garage is out now on Google Play for Android phones and tablets. iPhone, iPad and Steam come later.

What's the difference between HD and SD?

HD draws the parts in 3D, with lighting and shadows; SD is the original flat look. Both play exactly the same. The game starts in HD on Auto, which tests your device and keeps HD as sharp and smooth as it can hold. If HD still runs slowly or looks wrong on your device, switch to SD on the title screen or in the pause menu.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Gizmo Garage plays fully offline.

Does it collect my data?

No. There's no account, no ads and no analytics, and your progress stays on your device.

Can I play it in my browser?

The sandbox, yes: this site's Sandbox page has every part from chapters 1–20 to build with, and keeps your saved contraptions in your browser. The levels are in the game: get it from the store for your device once it's out.
